Tom went down to Donegal

And met a woman in a bar

He fell in love with her

As soon as he laid eyes on her

She was pretty and she was sweet

Long brown hair and big blue eyes

Had a big old smile on her face you know

Long slender legs that閳ユ獓 make a grown man weep

He went up to her and he said

Hey doll, you want a drink?

She said you bet I do

I閳ユ獟l have a whiskey please

They sat down at the bar

And he spoke for what seemed like days

Tom told her all his secrets

And she just sat there listening

He shared his soul with her

Told her things he never told before

Then she just got up

And walked away from him

His one and only true love

Had just walked out the door

He chased on after her

But it was too late, she閳ユ獓 just disappeared

He described her to the manager

Asked all the people in the bar

None of them knew her name

They didn閳ユ獩 even remember her

He goes back there every day

Looking for the one that got away

Let this be a lesson to you

You should never let your woman go

I really like these lyrics. It would depend on the music, but the words are great.

It appears you aren't rhyming, which is fine... but your meter sucks there's no flow to the lines. It actually looks like it makes more sense to just tell the story and as it's currently written I can't imagine it being a good sounding song. Is there any sort of chorus or is it just non-stop couplets? Telling a story is fine, but it generally needs a chorus. There's nothing catchy. I can only imagine this song in speak sing at amateur night. Good luck writing music for it.
